2010 Yao - Steve Nash charity game videos
26 July 2010 - 05:05 PM
Annual game with Yao, Nash and several other NBA players playing in China. It was the NBA vs CBA.
A few players on the NBA's roster were Nash, Baron Davis, Brandon Jennings, Aaron Brooks, Chase Budinger, Amir Johnson, Hasheem Thabeet and others.
And yes the commentary is in Chinese but its the offseason and its something entertaining to watch.

Three way trade rumor with Cavs and Blazers
23 July 2010 - 01:20 AM
This poster is apparantely legit, he broke the Al Jefferson trade a day before ANY rumor came out.

Looking like a deal is almost complete that sends Sessions and Koufous to Cleveland, Brewer and Cleveland pick to Portland, and West (contract) and Nicolas Batum to the Wolves. Should be done soon.
Quote
Its not a finalized deal. But it is for sure being talked about by these three teams
Quote
From the sounds of it, I'd say 60% chance this deal gets done exactly... but I'd say its about a 90% chance Sessions, West, Koufous get moved in a deal that involves more than just them sooner rather than later. If I hear more specifics Ill pass them along.

Pretty sweet deal for the Timberwolves, Batum is an excellent prospect. Sessions would be a nice addition for the Cavs but not sure if he's worth their first rounder especially if its unprotected. -

OTRBasketball Fastbreak
15 July 2010 - 06:51 PM
Matt Winer: opening month of the 2009-2010 NBA season. Hello everyone I am Matt Winer joined by Jalen Rose, Tim Legler and Jamal Mashburn and welcome to the first edition of OTRBasketball Fastbreak. Lets get straight to it.
First impressions: best teams
Matt Winer: 30 days into the regular season, what teams have been the cream of the crop so far?
Tim Legler: well if we’re talking about the best teams where else to start off than the team with the best record? I’m talking about the Oklahoma City Thunder, they have just been phenomenal to start the season. They are the most explosive team in the league, averaging 108 points a game, one of the best rebounding teams, they rarely turnover the ball. They do just about everything right EXCEPT getting back on defense, Oklahoma is giving up 102 points a game, they have some great defenders on that team in Lebron and Brook but giving up a lot of points seems to go with the territory of running a very fast paced offense. The Thunder want score more points than you, simple as that, and that accomplish that by running the most explosive and efficient offenses in the game right. One interesting stat, in the 5 losses the Thunder have had in the past month, all 5 had the opposing team scoring at the very least 110 points.
Jalen Rose: I’m going to say the New Orleans Hornets, they are just one game back of the Thunder but the reason I pick them is because of their defense. They are first in the league in points allowed (86 points per game), first in assists allowed, first in opponent field goal percentage, first in closing out three point shooters. Honestly I don’t think we’ve seen a defense this good since the 2008 world champion Boston Celtics. You really have to love the mix of guys they have on the roster, Chris Bosh is dominating in the middle and they surround him with tough, savvy veterans that focus solely at the defensive end. Guys like Baron Davis weren’t known for their defense before but Baron has realized that he is older now and not that explosive as he once now, and now he is leading the league in steals. A group as mature as this one is meant for great things. The only problem they have is that some nights it seems Chris Bosh is by himself offensively, if they could bring in another scorer off the bench of plug him into the starting lineup then that would be ideal.
Jamal Mashburn: I’m going with the Los Angeles Lakers and really what a pleasant surprise they have been. We knew Derrick Rose was a great player but he’s leading this team to new heights and Andris Biedrins has been turned into a rebounding and defensive force since joining the Lakers. Rashard Lewis seems to be the perfect fit next to Rose as he’s been getting plenty of opportunities to score whether its to the basket or an open look for three. That big three is supported by a cast of Glen Davis, Josh Childress, Nick young and Leon Powe, who have all been playing with hustle and all heart that have helped this team go 17-8 in the opening month.
Matt Winer: interesting that all three picks are from the Western Conference.
Inside Scoop with Chris Broussard
Matt Winer: we have Chris Broussard in for some inside information. Chris its only been the first month of the season and we’ve seen loads of trades, is that going to continue? What have you been hearing?
Chris Broussard: probably the most trades I’ve seen to begin the season but they have toned down just a little. However, there are still some discussions and possible movement. For example, the San Antonio Spurs are on the market for a young talented center. What team wouldn’t like to have on of those? They are looking to move Luol Deng, Michael Redd in a package with some of the 5 first round picks they have. There Spurs have held some brief discussions with the Cavaliers and the Jazz about Al Horford and Andrew Bogut but the possibilities of a deal going down aren’t very good.
Matt Winer: speaking of the Cavaliers, you say that they Horford may be on the block?
Chris Broussard: I wouldn’t say that he is on the block but he is a young talented big man and they are trying to sell that to other teams in order pick up some more assets. Most recently they tried to send to the Toronto Raptors. Reports of the deal were mixed from what I’ve heard from my sources but apparently the Cavs wanted Kendrick Perkins and Jerryd Bayless, some reports even said that they wanted the Raptors first round pick in the deal as well. However, Toronto quickly turned down that deal.
Matt Winer: The Milwaukee Bucks recently hired their new general manager, most teams hoping to get a bargain, push tons of trade offers to new general mangers. How have things been on their end?
Chris Broussard: there have been some trade offers but not a whole lot. Teams like the Pistons, Mavericks and the Rockets have been trying to snatch Kevin Martin from them though. Houston has been pushing for that trade the most, they absolutely love Martin. Milwaukee wanted either a package around Mike Conley (before being traded) or Gerald Wallace, but Houston wouldn’t bite and instead offered Josh Howard and future picks. Bucks didn’t like the offer at all and turned it down, besides that there hasn’t been much going on in Milwaukee.
Matt Winer: before we let go Chris, you said that there is a deal in the works? What can you tell us about that?
Chris Broussard: right there is a deal that is awaiting league approval between the Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns. It is a swap of Mickael Pietrus and Brandon Bass. The Pistons wanted an athletic big man next to Al Jefferson and they feel Bass is an upgrade over the already starting Udonis Haslem. Phoenix liked Pietrus’ defense and feel he can play a pivotal role off the bench. All there is to it.
Matt Winer: Thank you Chris, always a pleasure to have you.
First Impressions: Sleeper teams
Matt Winer: what are a few sleeper teams that can be a big threat in the playoffs?
Tim Legler: I like the Indiana Pacers, they are third in the East but that conference is very closely contested from seeds 1-7. Dirk Nowitzki is their guy in the middle, he’s paired with a great young big man in Kevin Love, Boris Diaw plays a critical role off the bench, and how about Chauncey Billups? He’s the vocal leaders for this team on both ends of the floor, he’s passing the ball very well and is putting up 21 points per game. Great, great production they are getting out of a 33 year old Chauncey Billups. There were some questions earlier in the season about how their wings will fair but Tayshaun Prince and Grant Hill have been playing phenomenal at the defensive end. Speaking of defense, they are currently the third best defensive team in the league.
Jalen Rose: I really, really like this Houston Rockets squad. The tallest player in the league returning healthy and holding down the fort down low, Gerald Wallace getting it done on all aspects of the game, Kenyon Martin and Josh Howard playing key defensive roles, and Jason Kidd feeding them all easy buckets. Those five are their starting lineup and all five can play lockdown defense, I am just amazed at how well this team has been constructed by the general manager and management. Houston can go deep this year.
Jamal Mashburn: I think a team being overlooked by a lot of people are definitely the Sacramento Kings. A very interesting duo down in the post with Marcus Camby and Luis Scola and both have delivered, swatting away shots left and right and hauling down every single rebound. A veteran player handling the point that has won several rings with some of the games greats in Derek Fisher, he’s surprised many scouts with his refurbished play and has controlled the egos in this squad. Carmelo Anthony has been as always, spectacular on the offensive end and has nearly become a 10 rebound per game guy, and has always committed to the defensive end of the floor. And finally JR Smith, who has blossomed into the Kings’ leader scorer and probably the most efficient 20+ points per game wing. They could use some improvements at the bench but they are still a very solid team.
Interview with the Cleveland Cavaliers
Matt Winer: The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the bright young teams in the league. We are joined here with the Cavaliers new general manager, The Hutch. Hutch thank you for coming for the show, lets get straight to it. Right now your team is currently on the outside looking in at the playoff picture. What are your expectations for the team for the rest of the season?
The Hutch: We knew coming into the season that we were about a year or two away. With a 19 year old point guard and no starter over the age of 24, we weren't expecting to contend right away. But if our team continues to play well and get the team chemistry continuing to go in the right direction, we might be able to sneak into the playoffs this season.
Tim Legler: hey Hutch, this is Tim Legler of ESPN. Rudy Gay and Brandon Jennings have turned into one of the most exciting young duos in the league. How do you feel about this team going forward?
The Hutch: We are very excited about the future of this team. Brandon is one of the best young point guards in the league and will only continue to get better, and Rudy is a very good, athletic wing who shows tremendous upside. With these two leading our team going into the future, the sky is the limit for our team.
Matt Winer: How does the team view Al Horford? His name has popped up on a few trade rumors, is he on the move?
The Hutch: Horford is a very good young center. He doesn't exactly fit our system of quick and athletic, but he shows great upside. If the right deal comes along, we aren't afraid to pull the trigger, as long as it helps our team in the long run. However, we aren't looking to deal him just to get rid of him. It has to be a deal that we will help us win in the future.
Matt Winer: thanks again Hutch for joining, it was a pleasure.
First Impressions: MVPs
Matt Winer: what players have become the early favorites for the MVP?
Tim Legler: I think this award is Lebron James’ to lose, his team holds the best record in the league, he’s averaging nearly 30 points per game along with 8 boards and 5 assists. Absolutely no question that Lebron is the early favorite to win his second regular season MVP.
Jalen Rose: I like Dwayne Wade to win it, he has pushed a team full of role players and a sidekick in Al Jefferson to a very solid 14-8 record in the East. He’s averaging 28 points per game along a few rebounds and assists, not the statistics to match Lebron James’ but he’s winning games and he’s been more effective defensively.
Jamal Mashburn: my pick is Dwight Howard, his team isn’t winning many games but since was the award reserved only players on teams with the best records? Dwight has expanded his game and some nights he looks like the best player the league. Never did anyone think that Dwight would be a 25 points per game type guy, the workouts with Hakeem Olajuwon over the summer seemed to have paid off. When he gets the ball deep in the post, I don’t care who is on him, its over. His rebounds have bumped up to an incredible 14 a game along with 2 blocks per game and even averaging a steal. He’s been working incredibly hard to get his team more wins but unfortunately they are a below .500 team right now. Paul Pierce and Jameer Nelson have helped carry the load but the lack of depth has this team floating around mediocrity.
Matt Winer: interesting, I wish we could continue this debate but unfortunately we are out of time. Thank you for tuning in to the first edition of OTRBasketball Fastbreak, so long and join us next time.

As you can see I got tired near the end of the article but I tried my best. Thoughts on the article overall?
And special thanks to Hutch for doing the interview, I think he deserves some cash for his contribution.
