which would make the best squad five years from now?
19 August 2009 - 04:53 AM
if you were a gm right now, and you had the opportunity to be able to pick any one of these squads to choose from to build a new franchise around in five years which would you pick and why?
obviously some might say in five years the 07 draftee's will have had the most experience, but that doesn't neccesarily mean they will automatically trump the other squads.
oh yeah, don't get all technical and ask where are the bench players and blah blah blah.
07 draftees
pg-acie law
sg-corey brewer
sf-kevin durant
pf- al horford
c-oden
08 draftees
pg-rose
sg-oj mayo
sf-beasley
pf-anthony randolph
c- brook lopez
09 draftees
pg- brandon jennings
sg- james harden
sf-demar derozan
pf-blake griffin

Baron Davis or Gilbert Arenas
11 August 2009 - 05:48 PM
at one point in time both of them were my favorite players because of how they played, similarities in their game, flashiness, cockiness, and the systems their teams ran. both seem to bring the best out of each other when they play and a few seasons ago it seemed like the baron led warriors and gil led wizards would be high scoring exciting games dominated by each other and it they would always get close to triple double numbers. i think one time in the same game both gil and baron both had triple doubles. iirc correctly baron had like 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, while gil had like 28 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assist(but im not sure though).
both are dynamic scorers with incredible handles for the ball, and just make it seem like a playground game out there but not like the and1 type if you know what i mean. both are stocky guards that can get their shot off against any defender and both are good at finishing in the lane.
obviously this is a comparison of when they were at their best stages in their career also. i'd take gil just for the fact that i think he has a better jumper than baron although both can get hot and light it up when in the zone. -
How would you react...
11 August 2009 - 04:15 AM
how would you react if you saw this wizards players and got to meet them face to face.
*i know nonwizard fans will probably not care about meeting players like haywood, so just keep that in mind already lolz*
anyways i've wanted to meet the wiz players for a while now, but i hardly get excited by or taken off guard by many things in life including regular people. inside i'd probably want to run up on gil zero and talk his ear off, but if i ever got to meet him i'd probably just give him a handshake and ask him for an autograph or something.
anyways here is the list of players.
gil zero- what i said above
caron butler- shake his hand, tell him he's better than pierce lol and his jumper is better than melo's.
jamison- shake his hand and thank him for all he has done for the wizards. ask him how he ranks himself as a pf.
brendan haywood- probably shake his hand and ask him to block shaq and dunk on howard in a future game just to send a message.
deshawn stevenson- shake his hand, tell him how much i hate lebron.
i just went with the starters but you can add the other players if you like.
just for kicks i'll throw in mike james. if i met mike james i'd put on a ski mask and go tanya harding on his knee's so he can never step on a basketball court again and miss open tear drops and chuck up three after threee after three. -
Playoffs: Cavs or other team?
06 August 2009 - 03:42 AM
Alrighty, its pretty weird that our team has had the privilege to face the cavs three times in a row the last three years we made the playoffs. my question is, if the wizards make the playoffs would you rather us continue our little traditional feud with the cavs and play them in the first round, or play a different team eastern team in the first round. this is purely from a fans point of view. its pretty arguable that the cavs will have a top two spot next season, so that would mean the wizards would have to finish 7th or 8th to matchup against them, and i would be pissed if we don't at least make it to the fifth seed, so thats why this thread is purely from a fans point of view. if the wizards are the real deal(lol) and the cavs are still favorites to go far in the east than we could eventually end up facing each other in the ecf(i think, remember im not going by seedings for this thread), so facing the cavs in the ecf might be a more entertaining matchup than the first round like we have been accustomed to. im all for this feud and have and still believed that we have had the better team each and every time we played them, so it grinds my gears that i look back and we are 0-3 against them, and it would make me happy to knock them out of the first round on national tv. but, im still sort of sick of seeing lebron and his lackie's all the time, and wouldn't mind versing another team like the hawks, celtics, magic, heat, sixers, etc. just to see where we are as a team and see if we can actually compete in the playoffs.
so would you rather us go against the cavs in the first round, or see whats it like to go against a different team for a change? -
