Just curious...what will it take to boost our posting again? We have over 100 active members, 90 or so showing up every single day. We have had days where we reach just 200 posts. Really? That's two per member.

Just to put that into perspective, I am making this topic as we speak. If I reply to it, that's two posts...and I would be done for the day.

So many of you visit, and a lot of you are actually on the site for a while...but then, there's nothing to show for it.

I really don't know what else I can do. There are topics for every single game of the season up. I update records every night. I am nearly done with roster pages (just going to update trades). I have team banners, three players per team. I have tried breathing life into the GFX section of the site, creating a forum for member blogs, getting members to help with Twitter, having a member bust his ass on Youtube, updating Facebook, and making posts in game topics when I can.

I don't want to put pressure on anyone else, but now it's all on you guys. I've done almost everything in my power except merging with another site, and I would rather just shut OTR down, if it comes to that.

Because although you're great you're hated, just like Kobe

On a more serious note, you say quality > quantity, yet we've seen many threads concerning the latter. Has there in fact been a topic mentioning quality?

Stick to what you believe... give and you shall receive :glasses: You want more smile, then smile. You want love, then love. You want people to understand you, then be understanding. :) You want quantity, then just keep posting without worrying about other people's posting... keep posting with quality, not quantity. Then others will follow.

And if you keep banning members, you're cutting and limiting subjects that ppl can talk about. Your my way or the high way and quick trigger can take the fun away of posting on a site... be it basketball site, anime site, etc. We're supposed to have fun. Have fun!

The quality here is fine. Never an issue. The quantity is the problem, and the less discussion we have, the less quality overall, and the less attractive we are to new members.

Yugo came back, and our post count dropped from 600-700 per day (which happened while you were gone, by the way) to 200-300 per day.

Since you've returned, we've hit under 200 once, haven't reached 300 yet.

It has nothing to do with me banning people that cause problems on the forums. With a select few banned, OTR was reaching 700 posts per day.

In fact, that's not what this topic is about to begin with, so we're not dipping into that mess again.

I'll admit, I check the forums daily but hardly post. I really just browse for a minute or two at work, then I tell myself "Remember to post back in that topic on OTR when you get home" but when I get home, I'm usually tired as heck, check my league, post a bit there, and then I get off the comp. My activity has even dropped on another website that I own that's about video gaming.

Anyways, I'll be sure to do my part on the forums RD. Definitely keep up the great job you and the staff do on a nightly basis. It is appreciated more than you think by your members.

I just think the season hit a dead spot right before March Madness starts. A lot of people are either working hard at school (like me) or not here because of Spring Break. I don't think it's too much to be worried about, but if this happens in mid April then be worried. Wait it out a little bit, OTR will be fine.

I agree, I notice things pick up immediately during any sporting playoff, or championship. I also noticed the Football forum was active the first few days of Free Agency. It really all depends on what's going on in the world of sports, when it's slow then it's slower here. It will be alright.

This.

Spring break is next week and I got my SAT this Saturday. I get online just about every day but I got my mind on other things right now.

OTR will be fine though, we always see our posting go down but we also see it burst right back up periodically.

I guess its my fault that the post-count is so bad

Plus, it seems like a lot more people are here to read than post.

Do we have a march madness yahoo thing yet? If not, let's prepare for one, that'll help.

I think it's funny that people give excuses for not posting on an internet forum.

Dude, it's a forum aka internet life.

And TBH, if you click on view new posts or active topics, look at the main topics we are looking at on a basketball forum, MLB 2k10, favorite movies to watch, NFL Draft 2010.

If you want more posting, add some threads about basketball, everyone supports a team here, you can make MANY threads out of that.

The NFL Draft has more hype for it right now than the NBA regular season. Its always been like that. Things will pick back up during the playoffs.

Well, I've picked up my own activity. I think in the last one of these threads a few months ago I think I averaged about 4 or so posts per day, and I promised to step my game up for this site. Now I'm averaging about 7 while being in the top 20 in the overall top posters in post count.

I've been inactive lately due to 1. schoolwork, and 2. spring break. I'm doing work during the day and then chilling with old high school friends at night, so not a ton of time to get on. I'll pick up my activity after midterms, which are next week.

Once I'm done with school in a few months, I'm going to try and help out a lot more by making more graphics for OTR and trying to get some members by joining other forums. Until then, I'm just gonna keep posting on a consistent basis. n

That's actually quite the same as me, except I usually check up in the mornings before heading off to school but in the morning I don't have enough time to post much nor am I really fully awake  I do the same thing but saying to myself to check the post/thread but sometimes forget all about it.

I've been slacking off lately though, I'm sure I can get more posts on here.

I should recruit more. One of my recruits was very active at one time, but I don't think he posts anymore; and my other recruit won member of the year and is a mod now. 2 recruits and 2 gold mines struck
